The Case Of the Mansion is a thrilling Online Turn Based Murder Mystery Game.

Set in the 1920´s London, it revolves around Strategic Investigation, Deception and Survival.

With the players being randomly assigned to 4 different undisclosed classes, each with their own agenda, they must analyze and uncover the secret to each other´s identities in order to achieve their goals.

    In-Game Screens:

    Concept Art:

    Engine: Unity

    Platforms: Windows (initially)

Background and Influences: This game was born out of my personal love for board games and Turn Based Strategies. I Wrote the Gdd for the project in august 2014 and started working on it by myself until January 2015 when i established a partnership with my friends of MonsterBED Game Studio.

I wanted to create a TBS like no other, a competitive game in which you truly felt like a detective. In TCOTM, the players need to investigate and outsmart each other in order to win. You dont need to be a hard core gamer, all that is needed is good judgement and sharp wits.

    Key Features:

    - 6 Player Online Competitiveness

    - A Turn Based Strategy Game like no other

    - Investigate and unvail other players identities

    - Manipulate others in order to achieve your goals

    - Survive the night and emerge victorious

    - Rank up in the Royal Metro Police Leaderboards through your accomplishments.

    Made by:

Lead Game Designer, Character artist, Concept artist, Interface Designer, Illustrations - Tadeu Costa Lima

Lead Programmer - José Francisco Moreira (MONSTERBED - Game Studio)

Music, Sound FX - Marcelo Rossas

Environment Art, Scene Assets - Manufactura K4, Tadeu Costa Lima

Animations - Kubold, Mixamo, Tadeu Costa Lima.

Additional Game Design Ideas - Otavio Bilevic

    Current Info on The Project:

The prototype for the game is ready and we are currently working on our crowd funding and Greenlight efforts. The game will also go on early Access Next Month along with the campaigns.

Not my type of game but this looks pretty awesome. :) Some gameplay footage of the full game would be nice. Still good luck and great job. :)

Looks like it's heavily inspired from Divinity: Original Sin (I love that game). The aesthetics are beautiful, keep this up!

Very cool concept! I like the asymmetrical mission style of gameplay. I have a quick question about the game if you don't mind me asking. Do all of the players move at the same time within a phase? Or is it turn based where you have to wait until everyone moves? Or even, is it hybrid where you all technically play out your turn at the same time, but when everyone finishes there moves you then see the other players moves play out?

I also just wanted to comment on the "fog of war" so to speak, I think that it makes a lot of sense that you can't see what is going on in rooms other than your own. I think to help reinforce that principle it would be beneficial to darken the other rooms to help focus the player. I seen in your second devlog that what you were walking through multiple rooms only the players disappeared. I would suggest have rooms that aren't adjacent to you be very dark and rooms that you are adjacent to be semi dark, just enough to have a noticeable difference as you enter another room.

But I think that so far the game is looking pretty good. I also really like the art design, particularly the typography that you are employing. And I think that it is great that you are making these devlogs as well. Good luck!

Been following since the first post. Interesting game.
The icons in this image are very similar -

    Accessory, Valuable, Clues.
You may consider changing the color/shape so they can be discerned easier.

Hi man ! Thanks a lot for the post! Your Question about the turns was the million dollar question that nobody had made so far Lol =] It was the most important aspect we had to solve in order to make the game work, we came up with a pretty interesting mechanic. I will explain it in detail in a few devlogs ahead! But I managed to work that quite well, it was the finest piece of mechanic design in the entire project... Thanks a lot for the feedback on the darkening the rooms, i will try to find a way to implement that. =]

The graphics are looking really beautiful, I like the mechanics you have in place. Is the board game you're referring to Cluedo? God I loved that game as a kid, I still think I have the board somewhere in one of my cupboards!

    Keep it up man!
