Dancing boys? Or maybe both. Unity does have few female developers, you know. ;)

If Unity is giving away Pro editor feature parity for free, will it be sustainable? How will Graham afford his Lamborghini now? These announcements were totally awesome for a lot of people. Will it be good for Unity Technologies?

Just have to say: Unity 5 is awesome. Was using the beta for a while now and just reading through the superb image-laden release notes is a great reminder of all the amazing things possible now. Cheers to you! Well done.

I also wanted to say Thanks! You all are awesome!!!
And... don't mind the entitled angry little men that already filled the forums with their whining. Nothing you do will ever satisfy them. Just know that you made happy a lot of people today and we really appreciate your hard work and dedication!

I am sorry if you felt I was derailing your thread or bickering, that wasn't my intention, I was simply trying to clarify my understanding of Unity's direction :).

And I am not disagreeing with you about what was released, it is awesome! I am beyond stoked to have so much truly awesome technology at my finger tips!

Thank you. I get it but your discussion belongs elsewhere.

This is the second thread I ever created in Unity and I was hoping it would be a place for people to thank Unity for giving us this chance to succeed. :)

I think the roadmap will be out tomorrow.

To be honest, I really like Tim Cook - but I totally dislike his presentation style. Yeah, Steve Jobs was totally awesome on that and so is Jonny Ive ... but you know, I've just watched that whole Unity GDC presentation (now, finally) and to me it looks significantly more honest and entertaining than what I'm seeing at Apple. And that's not to be critical about Apple - I really like my Mac and my iPhone and iPad and their keynotes. On the other hand, after watching those keynotes for a few years they kind of get boring. Quite unlike the keynotes / presentations of UT which are always exciting, real and alive ... and honest.

I'd just rather have those lovely people keep on spending their time improving Unity instead of taking "how to do a presentation" classes.

And I'd like to join into this: Thank you, Unity - you have changed my life in a really good way! :)

I will cede that, Tim Cook doesn't have quite the finesse that the other two have/had as far as presenting goes.

As far as the "presentation classes" go, I thought Unity cared about the spotlight, but I was mistaken. I guess I just find it frustrating that people will miss out on Unity due to this lack (in my opinion), but then again, perhaps Unity doesn't want this type of person to use their engine anyway.

Regardless, I can't thank UT enough for all the work they've put in, I certainly wouldn't have developed for so long (4 years almost!) if I didn't believe in them! I only hope that the lack of spotlight won't impact them financially. I guess I'd just be frustrated to see this silly aspect of product development keep them from succeeding in the long term.

Oh Macdude, why don't you start a thread on this? I think it is a very good idea for you to express your opinion where others will notice. My little thread with it's boring title probably won't attract others who can share your opinion. ;)

I guess for every actual game developer that doesn't like UTs presentation style, there's a whole bunch of us who really like it. I remember this one presentation at one Unite where they had this person that I'm sure went through every possible presentation training available (well, she must have missed "Authenticity in your Presentation 101") ... the atmosphere in the room really changed and I guess more than half the people just stayed in the room to not be rude. The thing was: That person was giving a great performance - but it was just that: A performance. People didn't come for a performance - they came for devs talking about their work.

So keep in mind: Just like some people might be turned off by "not-so-polished-presentations", there's other people that are turned off by "overpolished-presentations".

What I see at UT presentations are people that are passionate about what they're doing and sharing that passion with peers. It's this "approachability" that I think has a lot to do with what makes Unity unique ... and also what inspires awesome forum postings like the OP of this thread.

Thanks Unity. I am still in shock over what a great thing happened today. Like winning the lottery and not knowing what to do next. I guess I could put some clothes on now. :)

Yet one more time Unity opens HUGE doors, never opened before, for people who love making games. Unity is truly a tool for EVERYONE, both small and big game developers.
Eventually the professional version is a must, but for the time being this is an enormous help for small developers who are just starting, the Profiler alone makes a big difference, right now I've got my phone hooked up to my PC via USB, feeding Profiler information directly to Unity Editor; making awesome improvements already!

    THANK YOU UNITY!!

I've been eliminating several performance issues in my game today, that I didn't even know existed. The profiler is amazing.

Thank you, Unity, for making these awesome tools available to us.
