Texture format

    Hi guys I would ask you one thing: which is the best texture format for a project in Hdrp?

    On disk? Doesn't matter unless it's a compressed format like JPG - everything gets converted into GPU based texture formats. For those, it depends on what you're storing and what platforms you're targeting.

    That is a question that's really hard to anwer without knowing the details of any specific project. It's pretty much now like asking which is better, up or down, left or right? Without context it's almost pointless.

    But for actual content creation you probably want to choose your texture formats depending on your needs, art style and so on. Usually that's most likely something like PSD where you can preserve various layers etc. This is highly dependent on your workflow, but I doubt many serious game creators would use some lossy format for original image files. Then it's another issue how they are compressed/optimized for a specific platform.
