Its a problem I need to find a solution to:
    $NM error UC.jpg

Obviously we're going for a soggy look here, recently rained-upon earth but its yucky when you get these giant white jaggies on the edges of relief artefacts.
To give you a background the Colormap Normal are 1024x1024 so there shouldn't be any resolution issues here and the shader is "Terrain Specular" a native terrain shader.

Is this a shader or NM error?

    Thanks

Maybe the normal map isn't normalized?

(try using xnormal's photoshop tools...they have a normalize filter)

What are you doing for spec/gloss? Just a single slider?

Thanks, i'll give that a shot, could be a pain in the arse to do this for all similar materials but whatever.

The specular slide is pretty much far right, only darkening the colour really makes a difference.

This issue isn't so much of a problem normally but in this instance it causes a sparkling effect with HDR and Bloom.
    Thanks again
