texture coordinate based on "empty"/"object" in scene

    Hey, I come from Blender background and was wondering, is it possible to set up a gradient texture in the shader that positions it self based on "empty" or "object" in the scene, moving the object would move texture on vertical axis.
    The idea is to apply it over multiple materials and objects in the scene where steering wheel would be the object that determines the how far the "gradient" (dirt) goes

    The truck is made out of individual tiles and a layer of gradient dirt would really tie any possible tile variation together

    I am using Unity version 2020.3.8f1 Universal render pipeline
