Hi, I am trying to add localization to my project, the first step was to replace pre-rendered text with text mesh pro... The problem is that I cannot change alpha transparency of text mesh pro texts as I used to, using "getComponent<Renderer>().material.color=new Color (1,1,1,Alpha);" It seems that the shader that text mesh pro is using (TextMeshPro-->Mobile-->Distance Field- Masking) does not allow alpha transparency manipulation... How can I edit this particular shader to add alpha transparency support. I will really appreciate your kind help. Thank you.
So, the TextMeshProMobile/Distance Field - Masking shader actually does support transparency, it's just done through the vertex color property. Simply set the alpha on the TextMeshProUGUI's vertex color and it should behave as expected (see attachment).
