Textmesh pro is broken??

Hello guys! I'm new to unity and I want to use the asset Textmesh pro but when I press import and loading it in it will pop up a window screen and say "api update required". Even when i'm creating a new project and downloading it will still pop up and when I press "Go ahead" then there will be tons of error. I'm doing something wrong? if not what should I do and are there any other good text asset??

 

In the latest versions of unity you will need to import it from the package manager rather than the asset store. You didn't mention which version of unity and which version of textmesh pro, and you import from where, so I'm just guessing.

 

I'm using unity 2018.2.18f1 and textmesh 1.2.2

 

Like @LurkingNinjaDev mentioned you need to install it from the Package Manager. You can do this by clicking "Window" then "Package Manager" then selecting it from the list of packages and clicking "Install". Releases on the Asset Store are intended for older releases (before 2018.1) of Unity.
