TextMesh Pro free download missing in asset store

Hi, I can't find the text mesh pro in the Assets store for free as shown in the coursework being offered to form Unity's website.

You can download TextMesh Pro via the Package Manager. (Unless you're using some really old Unity version for some reason?)

So, just open PM, select TextMesh Pro, click install and you're done.

I can't find the Package manager either. Can you refer me to a link to where I can download the last version of unity?

 

I can't remember if it had Package Manager or not. Any particular reason why you are sticking to that Unity version?

The Package Manager wasn't added until Unity 2018, so you'll have to upgrade in order to use TextMesh Pro.

Remember to backup your project before upgrading, it shouldn't break anything major (in my experience, it broke a few scripts using obsolete calls, but they were easy fixes) but it could still happen. (You don't have to copy the Library folder if you want to make the backup faster.)

The LTS version is for people who need to use Unity 2018. You should use the latest version (2019.3.9) unless it gives you errors and the LTS version (2018.4.21) doesn't.
