When viewing a UI Text component in the Editor, and then using Alt+Tab to switch to another program (e.g. my browser) and then back into the Editor, I noticed that the actual text of the component vanished from the
screen after the Editor regained focus. Below are two screenshots: the first shows what it looks like before trying this, and the second is the result.

This issue seems to be purely cosmetic, and solved itself if I did any of the following:
    • Save the project.
    • Select the component in the hierarchy (took a couple of seconds).
    • Interact with the component in the Inspector panel (e.g. changing the name, the text, etc.)
I'm running Linux Mint 17.2, with the Cinnamon desktop.

Happening here as well in Xubuntu 14.04 and XFCE.

In the current game I am working on there are many text areas and the editor seems to have various one's vanish sometimes all of them.

Am having problems with the UI as well. While tinkering around with 2D-Tutorials i realise that UI elements like buttons, text, etc. don't show at all in the scene view. That makes it difficult to place them. They do show in game view.

And it seems that mouse pointer position (mpp) is not tracked correctly in game view. I get the most predictable behaviour with the canvas scaler set to "match width or height". At least the vertical mpp is correct then.

Maybe i'm just doing something wrong ...

edit: seems like the mpp is calculated from the lower left edge of the screen / game view window. Since the canvas / play area (i hope you get my point here :)) does not fit in the screen / window without edges (it never does regardless of resolution) there is an offset to the mpp.

Maybe i'll get the solution when i'm more advanced ... :)

edit edit: mese stupidse is. UI-Layer was deactivated ...

A workaround is that you can get the text to reappear by toggling "pixel perfect" on and off on the canvas inspector.
