I'm preparing a new release of free terrain stamp brushes. Is it better to use 2K or 4K for the textures? The export size is just a setting, but I guess performance might suffer? Also, is there a preferred way to name those textures and folders? The new terrain stamps of Unity are currently all in a folder BrushTextures and the files are all of different sizes ranging from 512x512 to 4k. The naming is canyon01, canyon02, canyon03, ... island01, ... mountain01, mountain02, ... I'd prefer if Unity came up with a standard. Apparently in the future some kind of filter has to be involved as those libraries grow. One example might be: BrushTextures/Canyons/Canyon_4096_01.tif BrushTextures/Canyons/Canyon_2048_01.tif BrushTextures/Canyons/Canyon_02.tif BrushTextures/Canyons/SomeCanyon.png BrushTextures/Islands/Island_01.tif That way one could categorize by folder name in the inspector. Or would it be possible to store meta info in a dedicated meta file?
