Question Terrain brush tools wont show up

Not sure if this is the right area for this but here it is;

I started a terrain object; added a texture

And now when I go to raise/lower terrain the brush wont show on screen and when i click nothing happens just goes off the layer

I swear it showed up in the first place but now even if i delete the terrain and open a new one its the same; seems to save the same rules as the other one

 

ITs some thing to do with this paint texture thing; i start new scene and new terrain then it works

 

Nope not even that; settings all the same so its something with the scene

No idea what
