Hi there, I hope this is the right forum. I have no experience with 3D modeling, rigging and animations. What I am wondering is... If I had a dozen heads, bodies, arms, legs etc. how easy/possible would it be to create a creature/character in game,the use it in game? Trick is, one arm type might be human and need to act, animate a certain way. While another might be tentacles. Can I create a modular system that will allow me to interchange limbs and have them be usable. By usable I mean, press "punch" and arm punches no matter the arm type. Thanks
Yes. The key is the joint locations in the rig that control the limbs have to be in the same location or proportionately similar . Unless there is a programmatic way to accomplish this, that I'm unaware of that would allow the rig to change joint locations. Hope this sends you in the correct direction.
