That's really nice, congrats on this. I could only play for a minute at since I'm at work but sent my son the link, he loves the lego games on xbox. Very nice Unity work!

    Nice, congratz!

On the german keyboard Z and Y are flipped, making it harder to play. (Camera movement is also a bit hard for my taste).

This game (Quest for R2D2) is a web game made with Unity for the Lego Web Site.

This version is a teaser version. The full game will be released in two months and it will have 15 levels, more enemies, a massive singleplayer component and much more.

    Hi Diego,

Will the finished game be boxed or web only? If boxed for what platforms?

    This. Is. Awesome.

Thank you for creating another installment in one of my favorite gaming franchises. I love pretty much everything but the snappy camera.

    Great use of Unity :)

How are the level lighting done ?
the lights affects characters, and all things,
    doesen't seem to be lightmaps.

A game like this doesn't make any sense with the arrow keys / digital control, but plugging in a gamepad while the game is running already works great! Amazing!

It's really awesome to me that Unity has achieved this level of success. Congrats to UT, and you!

Now I am envious of you guys getting to make a Unity game based on Lego and Star Wars. That is basically all my favorites in one sentence :)

Good stuff, looking forward to see more!

I actually spent a good amount of time playing the game :p

Although I think there is one pretty big flaw and that's with the keyboard.
On my keyboard (Swiss French) have a look at both the Z and X keys: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/195/494081498_7dc27a1c06.jpg?v=0

They are pretty far apart (unlike on a US keyboard) and that makes the game unpleasing to play.
IMO, you should change that. French keyboards don't have the same layout neither. It's gonna be hard for kids to play I think.

Except for that, it's a really good game.
    Congrats!

    Thanks all for the comments.

Regarding to future releases. The game will be available on Cartoon Network and StarWars.com with some modifications (character that you could use, exclusive levels and so on). A second part of the game will be probably arranged to do in the next months.

The game will not be available for other platforms like consoles.

We are working on this. Thanks for the feedback. It's very very useful for us. :)

Where there any specific instructions given to you in order to make your game a distinctly different product than the ones from Traveler's Tales(ex: crystals instead of studs)?

Also, I mentioned this earlier, but I think having the camera locked explicitly to the character is a little jarring. If you jitter left and right, the camera does as well. I think there should be some sort of dead zone to prevent this.

Yeah - really cool but finger-breaking on a german keyboard. It's a flaw many flash games have, as well.

If it's keyboard only I'd vote for Ctrl and Shift (or Alt if it doesn't interfere with the browser window). :)

    Otherwise really kickass.

Awesome work. Really fun to see the Clone Wars guys in a Lego game. Close to my heart too as I was the Lead Designer on the Clone Wars DS game over at Lucas :)

The level lighting is just a slightly complex setup of vertex lights! We needed to keep the requirements low because LEGO users are kids with very low end machines :)

It was fun to have that constraint though...
