As much as I love the mobile friendly site we have on the forums now, will the Unity forums ever get Tapatalk support? It's really great for users that use multiple forums to have it all in one place and I would love for Unity to be apart of that one place.

    Anyone agree?

    Has anyone used Tapatalk before?

I won't say outright no at this point. If enough people are interested then we would look into it.

+1 for tapatalk support. Use it all the time and no mobile themed website has yet to beat it in useability or function.
Plus it's free and easy for web adim to add plugin to forum.

Does anyone know if using that plugin would affect the current mobile view? For those who don't use tapatalk.

No it would have no effect, I use it on my own sites.
It also has great features for admins allowing for full moderator support while out on the road and away from desktop.

Well the only thing I am aware of is that if you're under Android and open a website that has Tapatalk support, you get a bar at the top that asks you whether you want to open this forum in the app.
Not always, I found that it was rather random. That may have been a problem on the side of the website though. The app works really, really good.

My only experience of Tapatalk has been the nag messages I get on a bunch of forums I visit that prompt me to install it...

I'm sure that may be a thing that can be disabled though, if we were to add this, I wouldn't want a nagging thing to make people use it.

The message is just a notification that the site uses tapatalk, this shows up for users that have the tapatalk app installed.
Only shows up while browsing the forums using browsers and not tapatalk, so not really an issue as you would be using tapatalk and not the browser to read the forum.

No, I don't have Tapatalk, which is why the message pisses me off.

But if it can be disabled then fine.

I'd just like to hop in and express my interest in tapatalk support.

It's trivial to disable the nagging and their back-end is completely open-source, if I recall correctly.

Sorry for necroposting, I just searched about tapatalk for the Unity Forums and found this thread.

Not to mention the "Sent from ___ using Tapatalk" message that most users leave enabled.
