    The Map has now more elevation to get more relief so more zones to explore, grass and rocks are still wip!
    But you still have this feeling of immensity!

    HI all,
    After a little break on the forum but not coding! ;) here is the point:
    I 've spent so many hours debugging the version made in Unity 4 and Updated to Unity5, that i decided to have a little break to think about it...
    Releasing a buggy demo was not a good option in order to introduce Takeshi!!:)

    I still belive the global performance of this old updated version looks strangely better then a fresh Unity 5 template of the game i made....
    But there are so many things i wanted to change And more important i didn't have a lot of pleasure debugging, i needed to create again, and shock my brain with some things to do !!!

    That's why i decided to rewrite almost the entire game with my present knowledge!!!

    The Melee system is now redone and offers much better performance wich means more Npcs with better fps!;)

    So now Takeshi has a much better third person controller and bug free!;)

    I will start showing all that with a little video dealing with the Melee system and we will see how many characters we can face!!!

    Banditcam slows the game so much that i'm disapointed with the results but will try anyway and maybe try to shoot the screen directly for a little video showing the integration of Vegetation Studio by @LennartJohansen. Now the map has some good looking spawned veg...It's just a desert so not much trouble!! :p. But it finally looks ok....

    If you have any good advice for sceen recording(not shadowplay)....i'll take!;)

    So here is a nice pizza in a middle of some maccaroni stuff!!!!!:p:D:D

    No it is not:

    It's an 8000/8000 landscape generated in Landscape Builder with a mask to get that circle shape

    Using Horizon is not easy. THis asset needs you to use photoshop or any other tool. If you miss those skills, then good luck. But Horizon can be a very good infinite ocean solution seen from far !

    Unfortunately Horizon seems unsupported now......It's quite expensive and quite limitated without those photo skills:mad:
    so i use i10% of its capabilities....

    So let's add 2 mountains prefs provided in Horizon...Later i will add more:p

    Even using it roughly i'm quite satisfied with the result. And fps are great...

    Next time we will deal with Vegetation Studio! and I will show you pics (cause recording kills my fps) of A LOT OF enemies fighting Takeshi with NO fps drop!!!!!!! (considering my poor coding skills it's a revolution!)

    Your project is really ambitious and really good. Other game like this is Lost Soul Aside,he started as a solo project and now he has a company to finish it after the hype it got just from the trailer.

    I am just curious any reason you want this to be 1 man project?

    This looks very interesting, I'd love to see a video.
    What sort of combat is in the game? (Sorry if I missed it)
    Is the whole game (including terrain) going to have cell shading eventually or only the characters?

    Many thanks for your comment, i don't know if it will be "good" but i really appreciate your comment and it goes straight to the heart!:)

    I didn't know Lost Soul Aside, gonna check it out...;) I'm afraid my demo trailer didn't hype anyone but me....and my family...and friends....:p

    I didn't want it to be a 1man project. But Here was the point, i already had the ideas, the music skills, the gameplay i wanted to offer to players so i started.... None of my friends are in this hobby...So....

    I had a little exprience with a little team who wanted to build a big Pirates game. I was only the musician and the project failed real quick....:( The conclusion was if you can, do it yourself. I must admit i go slow but i like the fact that it's my baby!;)

    Did you see the little trailer page 1? It's made in Unity4...but gives an idea....

    Don't be sorry! Unfortunately Banditcam scews my fps in Unity5 so couldn't record a good fighting video...
    I will show pics with 20 enemies and constant high fps. It's martial arts style.
    Of course as i'm all alone it is simple but they enemies can see hear patrol and fight!

    As combos Takeshi has 3 punches and 3 kicks ! and you will use weapons too!!

    It's more like a dragon quest or zelda, characters are toon shaded but the terrain uses a mix of real and toony textures with normal, detail using CTS shader by @AdamGoodrich and @NatureManufacture

    So i need to find an alchemy to get those different styles work together and i'm pretty happy till now.!

    Hi all,

    Let's get into the battlefield!:)

    I promised a video but Banditcam sucks all my fps!!! as i told you...:p

    So few pics to show you some of the new melee sytem.


    First let me explain:

    It was fisrt made in Unity 4. And was terrbly coded! (i know i did it!:p)
    Few Npcs droped my fps like 4 enemies and 40 fps down!

    So for an amateur like me any success is like walking on the moon!:p
    And i'm quite happy with the new code and system cause as you will see, my fps are more than stable even with more than 4 enemies:cool:

    Nothing fancy, it's still simple. No scriptable objects but a better use and understanding of the mecanim state machine.

    :cool:Now it's very modular and i can add enemies real quick using the same system only tweaking animations and fx!!!!:cool:

    So in this almost empty scene we have Takeshi Nicely shaded, a cube as ground and post processing Fx

    I use CTS fps counter top left corner.Unity stats are a bit crazy as you can check.

    Score: fps = 200
    :)

    (for info my poor rig : I5 + GT660 ti + 8GB ram):(

    Great work!

    Makes me wonder how games like Hyrule Warriors manage so many enemies on the screen without any frame drops.

    Do you think you can make the horse assist you in battle like zelda or shadow of collosus?

    I really enjoy both of those games and yours remind me of those.

    And many thanks for your kind words Zelda and Shadow of the Colossus are in my top 5 games ever so .....Those work of art made by hundreds of pro are a fantastic inspiration !

    I never played Hyrule warriors:oops:
    The Horse is made by @Malbers it's a fantastic asset ! it's so polished that it's a possible idea but never really had to digg in that direction. I need to keep things simple but it's definitely a great idea and i will look at that! ;)

    and are you looking to just roll down the edges so that they fit the Horizon nicely?

    Never asked for a tutorial, only examples of other Horizons...I mean nice ones!

    yeah I dug around for some when you asked. havent used it in about 3? years. (cant remember, w/e it came out) Did some on the Gaia thread AGES ago of using this to do flat-shading surrounds. it's totally doable. Couldn't find my screenies since that Hard drive died.

    Might fire it up later though and make some just to how it can be done. seriously. it's doable

    I know it's doable, i'm ok with what i did.

    Any way, better post any of your Horizon examples on the Horizon thread, here it's a non sense.
    Here i don"t support Horizon, i wanted to give the little process i used a little help for others, this thread here is dedicated to Takeshi. If ever i can finish it one day before i die!:);)

    The kind of message that gives you strenght to keep on !!:)

    I have more gameplay almost finalized to show:

    -stamina
    -carry objects
    -Use Horse to carry Object
    -Storage of ressources

    -The new Terrain using Vegetation Studio
    ...

    but after a long break i opened Unity and a bug that i know i already cleared came back!!!!!!!:mad: regarding the third P controller!!!
    And i backed down for the summer i was to tired of all that!!!!

    Last night i tried to understand it, no solution came:(

    Anyways i will do my best to debug this.Let's be optimistic!!

    Hi guys,

    Thanks to @MD_Reptile support i decided to go back to Unity to analyse this thing!! thought i would never get it to work but:

    :):) i found the solution to this terrible bug!:)I am very happy with that cause now i can go forward in my project!!:)
    It's not and will never be or look like AAA but the experience gets more professional!
    What a relief!!! Feels like i did accomplish some spaceRocket launching:p

    Takeshi is still alive!

    Will revert real soon to show few pics of the gameplay!

    So thanks again to all the community
