So we've been working on a game for some time now,and i thought its time to share it with people.
Here's the video of the first trailer:

I know its the place to get feedback, but please be honest, if it's total crap, just tell me!
We are looking for programmers and artists that are willing to help us make game better and prettier.

This looks VERY promising. Obviously still early dev but it looks like you've done a lot of hard work. Make it unique - give it a unique look and you're on to a winner.

    keep going.

Well it looks like it still needs a ton of polishing, but I like where this is going with those 80s Mecha heroes. Keep it up!

I'm gonna be honest and say that this project sounds over ambitious. Three people to develop a sci fi sandbox massive multiplayer online role playing game with action combat and vehicles. The progress looks interesting and very early but it is very hard to read whats going on in combat, where damage is being dealt, and how.

Also, it is pretty unprofessional to use music you don't own in a games first official trailer.

Well i started game developing hoping i can earn something with it. Im from a poor country and i cannot allow myself to buy rights for music, because licenses are too expensive for me. Im just a random dude, sitting at my home and my friends at their homes, trying to create a game(Its not like we're a big company or smth). Dmg is dealt but not displayed, the golem would die in the end if i would've kept fighting. As said in the video, combat is very glitchy. And what about your ''ambitious'', you know i have a dream, and im up to follow it and not give up on it,when i started the project i was all alone, but now people joined me, so doesnt matter how big it will get, IM GOING TO MAKE IT! But i thank you, for your opinion :)

Somehow I do not think that stealing other peoples IP is any kind of recipe for success. In fact, its a good sign that you will soon not be developing any more.

What do you mean by stealing others people IP? I have stole nothing. Yes,the song in the video is not mine. But that doesnt mean that im going to quit soon. You dont know me. People like me never give up on their dreams. You dont know where im from. Its still better than making a video w/o music.

constructive critisim is what should be given on these threads. NOT dissing, negativity and nastiness. This guy is a youngster and should be encouraged and supported (like we all should be supporting each other on this forum). There's no need to write the crap that's been written (see above). Maybe just point out about the music etc. and suggest things to guide, instead of suggesting that his approach shows he will fail and he's a theif etc. Perhaps those spiteful comments were from another youngster who hasn't yet learned to communicate his thoughts effectively yet. If he is an adult he needs to temper his comments.

I hate to see unnecessarilly harsh and ill thought out comments like those ones above.

And don't reply with the same old crap about 'living in the real world' and 'having to get used to it', If people were a bit more thoughtful in the real world then the real world might be a bit nicer to live in.

    WOW

Since when should stealing other peoples work be encouraged. You have no right to take someone elses work and include it in your own because you are young or because you are poor or because you are not a big company or because people do not know where you live or for any reason. Ya, video looks great, go crazy, just don't use other peoples work without their permission.

    Your robot was floating. :)
It looks like you've accomplished a lot of back end stuff. And it looks like you have a lot more in front of you to develop.

Always remember to take criticism and feedback professionally, good & bad with a grain of salt and don't be defensive about anything.

Some people draw a real hard line about IP stuff. Don't take it personal. And don't give reasons/explanations about why you did something someone doesn't like, unless it is a legitimate development reason - like the robot was floating because the character collider was set off the ground a little too much or he will eventually have little mini jets hovering him off the ground just a little ways.
A good example of a defensive bad excuse is "I'm poor and I can't afford it". But that's beside the point.

To approach the subject about IP music stuff a little differently, there are several sources on the web that offer free to use as you like audio content. Heck - I think there are several ambient audio tracks available in the asset store to use. Just keep in mind it's important for our industry (entertainment) games - music - movies that content is paid for when required and isn't used without permission when permission is required.

Not to say anybody would do this but what's to keep a person from ripping the textures or a model from your alpha build game and using it in there game, maybe even before you end up releasing? That would suck.
Or just using it without permission. Maybe they use it is such a terrible way it makes your game (guilt by association) look less desirable. See how IP stuff can get out of hand?
And that's why some people are so passionate about it, even though some times people aren't able professionally vocalize there thoughts and give proper feedback. A lot of stupid comments can just be ignored. :)

Keep at it! Developing a MMO is a huge undertaking!! But if you have the determination you can succeed,,, maybe! Be sure to set attainable short term milestones for yourself so you can see little measurable improvements and not burn yourself out.

Thank you for the truth. Developing this game for me is really hard, now we are only 2 man team, because others who helped us,dont believe in the project. We are still looking for programmers and artist to help us complete this game! All the best.

I like the bike model, but the movement seems a little iffy. Okay, a lot iffy. I would work on adding some more eye candy to the bike, maybe a few lights and/or particle emitters. I also suggest changing the combat so it feels like the player is causing some impact when hitting the enemy.

The mere fact that it will be a MMOG makes me very interested in this project, and I would love to help with the project if you're still looking for artists or designers. I'm also somewhat handy in a pinch as a programmer, but I have very little experience with network game programming. If you need a second pair of eyes to look over the code, though, I could make an attempt to optimize a few behaviors in the code. I could also help find security holes once the game is more mature.

Anyway, good luck with the project.

Awesome idea and it could be a great new innovative IP. Although you should try and find more people to help with your project.

    Best of luck,
    Daniel

Wow, wow, wow! Now wait a minute... why you are not allowed to use any song as presentation background for your project? As long as you specify that the soundtrack has no connection to the final product and it's used only as presentation, why you should not use it?

    Go to: http://www.adweek.com/socialtimes/fair-use-youtube/62896
Focus especially on: Video Games & Tutorials With Commentary

Mix that with the fact that you credit the author, don''t make any money of it and you clearly state that is not part of the final product (clear any false advertisement issues) that should be more than enough.

Let's not get too much of a hard on regarding the 'get off that stuff is mine!" thing. Also danteson, in the worst case scenario you would get a request to take the video down. That is all.
What, only the big youtubers are allowed to use copyrighted content under fair-use clause? Hah :)
