I am a small developer planning to make apps for iOS and Android as well as some computers and maybe consoles. I want to choose where to start and learn how to make 3d apps and 2d apps. Currently, I am good with swift and working with unity3d. Please help me choose the best software for development! Thanks in advance!

There is no general "best" tool, and there's no way to evaluate what's best for you and your project without knowing a lot more about both.

Just start with something and stick to it until you're making releasable stuff. A huge amount of what you learn will be transferable, and you won't be truly good at it until your understanding is broad and deep enough to transcend the tools you're using anyway.

    How is this one category?
Anvil Game Engine / Cocos2d-x / Snowdrop Engine

Haxe/OpenFL is a widely used one you missed.

And as others said, define your needs first.

Also asking this in a Unity forum, what do you expect? In a Haxe forum you would get 80% Haxe.

Every tool has strengths and weaknesses. We cannot simply point at one and claim it is the best for every situation. You would be better off making a short list and evaluating them to know which will be suitable for you.

As you want to target both Android AND iOS I don't get why Swift/Objective C is even listed there?

Plus there are other good engines/cross compilers like Monkey X, AGK, Haxe, ... out there.

I didn't have space to make each individual engine a choice...
Didn't think about the last line you said... Maybe I should put this question on Unreal Forums

There is a possible way you can run Swift applications on Android, Tizen, or Windows Phone, I just don't know what it is. I prefer to stick with these game engines because of there popularity and because they are modern.

Professional developers would know what would be best for me rather than me choosing my engine.
