Suppose I have an animation file and a model. Can I import the animation-rigged model to blender?

I can bring in the animation, and I can bring in the model, but I can't figure out how to tie them together when I want to import into Blender.

    Import into blender?
Doesn't blender have forums for help with blender import issues?

For Unity, with a rigged model and a separate animation, import rigged model, set rig type to humanoid, create avatar, import animation, set rig type to humanoid, associate character avatar with animation file, confirm hierarchy matches, create animation controller.
