Feedback Suggestions for the Search Forum functionality

We need a way to quickly search within a topic or sub-board without having to select that sub-category from a dropdown. Currently, using the search functionality requires users to select which category to search in, instead of defaulting to the category they were already browsing from:



When you use the forum often, this becomes a huge hassle.

This could be improved just by defaulting to the category the user was on when they clicked Search Forums

 

It would be nice for OP, to actually search for an similar threads, before posting, as this question comes back regularly.

 

Sounds to me like another example of the lackluster search functionality lmao

 

they could add small javascript snippet to do that automatically (based on referring url)
