    I literally just started working on sound for my game today, man it's a pain! Glad your's is going well!
    83 is still pretty good with such little marketing. I would definitely recommend trying to get YouTubers/Reviewers copies of the game ASAP (even if it's not fully finished as long as it's playable and a good representation of the final product). I think the saying "no press is bad press" is pretty accurate.

    Tell me about it, I've just been very inspired with sfx lately and I'm riding that high to the fullest ;)


    Yeah, it's just so hard to decide when to start sending it out?? Leave it too late, and you've got a bad launch, do it too early, and you risk getting worse press than if you had waited more. Currently, there's still placeholders, some in the datalog, and a lot in two of the bosses. I'm thinking once all the placeholders are gone, I can probably start sending it out to everyone I can, even if there's more work to do (more achievements, optimization, etc.)

    I also need to think more about the non English market. My biggest wishlist sources are Korea, China then Russia, all of which my game will be localized in, so I need to make sure to get it known there too

    I think that's a good plan, getting the main gameplay aspects finished is definitely a good idea.

    I know next to nothing about foreign markets and would be curious on how that's approached. Especially with trying to get media coverage in those countries.

    Lots of progress has been made, but most of it is internal or on the bosses yet to be shown I aim to have a video of the final boss ready near the end of June :)

    Back with some progress!
    Among a myriad of little improvements and bug fixes, I've started tackling another issue: hacking
    Personally, I don't mind modding and hacking singleplayer games, but I don't want the leaderboards to be ruined for everyone
    To begin, all important variables are now encrypted in memory, and move around erratically, ruining static and dynamic analysis. This is a preventative measure, although I'm sure the most die hard hackers could beat it anyway.
    Next, I'll bundle all uploaded scores with other information to make it easier for me to determine if a shader looking score is legitimate or not :)
