Hey I just got the subscription for Unity Pro.
    (I have two questions)

    (1)
I am hoping I am reading this wrong. I just spent 75 dollars, it says it expires in like 2 or 3 days (whenever the 1st of the month is). Am I really supposed to pay 75 more dollars after 2 or 3 days of use? That's kind of messed up, I can't do it, whatsoever, and now I'm gonna waste 75 dollars?

I'm hoping it's just a glitch in the numbers, because I could understand the 1st of the next month (march).

    and (2)

I didn't receive my Unity 5 Serial Key or whatever it is I am supposed to be getting.

(Sorry guy's I am freaking out mainly about the first question).

I Got it all working, and sorry Mods, I didn't realize I posted this in the wrong section!

You may go ahead and delete this, as everything is taken care of, and again, sorry, didn't realize I was in the wrong section when I posted.

So... how does it work? If a person buys near the end of the month like you did do you get rebilled on the first of March?

Yeap yeap, I read it wrong LOL. It said Feb 1st, 2016, and the next billing date was on a different page and is March 1st.

(And sorry mod who moved this) I didn't mean to post this in this section, I started freaking out and 99% of the time I am on discussion and it was too late by the time I noticed lol.)

Next time it's best to just get in touch with support.

The payments are always taken on the 1st of the Month, if I was to take out a subscription today (29th), the next payment would be taken on the 1st of March.

Oh best believe I sent an e-mail lol. But I freaked, I needed answers then, because a couple days for 75 dollars would have P'd me off so bad I'd break something lol.

But I'm glad I can have it until the 1st of the next month for next payment

For future reference, the FAQ for subscriptions is on the store https://store.unity3d.com/

But then you need to click the "$75/month" text under Unity Pro and a box will appear with the option to look at the FAQ.

Super inconvenient I know, but I've just raised it with the Web Team.

[Edit] Apparently this is being changed next week.

Since this thread is here, May I ask A mod a question regrading licensing ?

I have been using unity since 2012 but have never used my 30 free trial of PRO (if you still do that) Can I use my 30 free day anytime I want ?

Like Can I make a game have it near completion and than upgrade to add the extra pro features ?

(Am a little broke but Im about to finish my biggest project to date, and would love the extra pro features) Sorry if this sounds shay lol I just cant afford unity pro right now though I LOVE unity so much :|

You can't release a commercial game made with the Pro trial. Any project built with the trail will be watermarked until (if I am not mistaken) you pay for a Pro license.

The Pro Trial is exactly that: a trial. You can't distribute anything you make with it even for non-commercial purposes.

    From the EULA:
You can use it to see how Pro features would look in your game, but if you want to use any of them in a release you will need to subscribe or purchase a Pro license for that platform.

The trial is to allow you to check out Pro before making the purchase. So, think of it as test driving a car. If you drop into a Lamborghini dealership and ask to test drive a Gallardo, the assumption is that you have every intention to buy one. You might decide that you prefer a Ferrari, but the idea is that you (a) have the money to spend and (b) want to know which product to buy.

You don't get a Unity 5 serial while it's in beta.
You just activate with your subscription license serial.

It doesn't count as an extra activation, although you can only activate Unity 5 beta with your subscription serial on one computer. If you wanted to activate it on another you would need to return the license first.

Which is why I find it a bit odd that Unity gives away trial licenses for game jams etc...

You don't really publish a game for a game jam, I guess. You just show it to the people there, which may be OK.

EDIT: I mean you can publish it, but you can just upload it somewhere more private and show it to just the jam judges.

Plenty of jams upload builds to be freely downloaded, and the quote a few items up from the license says you're not allowed to distribute it at all.
