At the bottom are links to a Test Chamber demo where you can create any of 750+ atoms or isotopes, fire neutrons and antineutrons at it and watch what happens. All objects are self actuating and all events are procedural. Lotsa particle efx whizbang and readouts of decay and fissile chains in layman English followed by scientific notation. The isotope database will eventually include around 1500 isotopes and the source data in each ScriptableObject profile encompasses data that comes from several sources and not found elsewhere. I have been wondering if others may be interested in a ocmprehensive data set as ScritpableObjects. It took many hundreds of man hours to transcribe and cross and double check reference.

I've never seen a strictly chemistry related game where I could just mash buttons and find out what happens. Chemistry is one of the subjects where you do not simply "Mash buttons and find out what happens" in real life. Reagents are volatile, expensive, dangerous or toxic, you don't just play with them; lab safety is a huge thing. I loved chemistry but they'll never let you do fission in class other than on paper. If you want to get into the field it takes decades of dedicated effort and study, and then when you get there the equipment you're working on costs a billion dollars. Better be careful. STEM enrollment is always something that you want to encourage in all kids, you never know who will have a knack for the science and come up with something that helps us all progress as a species.

Therefore, we decided to make a game about nuclear physics!

We are designing Cyclotronica to make use of the Periodic Table's uncanny resemblance to the "Leveled Lists" you see in Action RPGs and Strategy Games. Each of the Elements is unique, each Isotope has slightly different properties, plenty of physics themes from which to draw. Creating a 3D environment for Nuclear/Particle Physics and Chemistry demonstrations allows better hands-on access to learning about real world processes by gamifying them, creating a simulacrum players can engage with at eye level.

At the same time you can make it a sandbox for people to explore. As we continue expanding the campaign levels and the physics engine functionality, we'll have more "lessons" that are mini games within the microcosm. Devices in our lab bench will allow users to play with bombarding and changing matter right in front of their eyes instead of in imagination only, or through History Channel reruns of Atomic Bomb footage. Multiplayer will encourage users to learn more about the Elements to use them for offensive and defensive purposes in head to head, or other utility in team or co-op play. We want to build out a world that makes playing with dangerous physics processes accessible and fun, and add a dash of candy and glitter to it, point some pretty lights at it, and let people detonate it on their own.
