I'm struggling with nearly all the elements of setting up IAP's for android.
    • I know I can create packages of items (i.e. buy 5) but I don't know how to keep track of single uses. Far as I can tell google play only tracks the ownership of that "buy 5" not each individual bomb. Do I need to track individual usage?
    • I'm using OpenIAB and it's unclear, if I call purchase, will the library toss all the necessary purchase stuff to Google's UI or do I need to create a UI beyond the "buy this" button? (i.e. will a "do you really want to buy this?"/"confirm purchase" UI come up automatically?)

The Google Play side knows nothing about an iAP giving multiples. They are all counted as singular purchases. If an iAP is supposed to give multiple benefits that needs to be done/stored on your end.

OpenIAB will bring up the standard Android purchase UI. All you need is the button to initiate the purchase.

If it is an iAP that can be bought multiple times (such as in-game currency) don't forget to consume it after purchasing!

Ok so basically consume it the moment it's bought then track the count on the user's end?
