Dear Unity Marketing and Executive teams:

You might as well extend the Pro license offer to the end of 2017, .. cause it is still not compelling enough.

If it included a free lunch and round of beer every 6 months with Unity Support and Development teams... I think I might be compelled.

[edit], if the teams were local it would need to be every month. otherwise, travel would have to be included.

Go back to the light skin for a while, then let us know if you still feel the same.

On that note, I'm dreading having to revert to the light skin.

I can't stand the dark skin; I only use it for testing editor assets to make sure they work with both skins.

I'm not ruling out Plus version for that and the benefit of getting rid of the splash stuff (or customizing).. Just sayin' Pro offer is a joke.

    I ain't makn' bank here....

Glad I'm not the only one. The first thing I did when I upgraded to plus was figure out how to turn the darn thing off.

Since the only reason to go pro is the higher revenue limit, you'd be an idiot to go pro if you weren't making more then 100k annually.

This pretty much sums things up. People seem to have this weird misunderstanding when it comes to Pro. If you don't need Pro, don't get Pro, and don't post these pointless threads complaining about the Pro pricing model.

First, the rev cap for Plus is $200k (the $100k cap is for the Personal Edition). If you "ain't makn' bank here...." then you don't need Pro (and may not even need Plus). I swear, Unity could pay devs to make a game and people would still complain.

You know whats funny? I was forced to use Unity as my first Engine because Epic has no option to change the dark skin in UE4. I have a Dell S2415H monitor, its those amazing glossy displays with ultra thin near invisible bezels the beauty of glossy displays is that there is no hazy matte covering that diffuses light and causes eye fatigue and damage to the eyes over decades of use so everything looks crystal clear as it should be. Wanna know something else? I live on a tropical Island, there are many days I love to open my big sliding windows and let in that hard hitting warm breeze, it beats being in a dark room with AC on when I could be hearing the grass blowing in the wind.

Wanna know something else? that dark theme turns my monitor into a mirror when I open my windows. For the love of god every company needs to do like Unity and give us an actual bright theme. With Unity I need not worry about sun light

One time I switched to light theme and literally got cancer.

I had to switch to dark theme to cure it, it was the only way.

I have to say that the half-dozen emails about upgrading to Plus (25% off!) in the last month or so have been annoying.

Well, there are other engines; if you don't like Unity.

As for the skins, the problem is that:
    • the light one is too light,
    • the dark one is too dark.
    ;)

Unity wants its dues for their labor, pay up or face the consequences. I tried to hold out and they showed up at my house with their clandestine paramilitary assault force. After few minutes of water boarding, they broke me. It's easier to just cooperate. Don't try to be a hero.

You know whats funny I could never get people who could make $100,000 and then have an issue paying up $1500 for the software that allowed them to make that much money in the first place.

Even with UE4, 5% cut if you make a lot of money I mean yeah if one can actually reach the EULA terms to pay up 5% cut then the last thing on your mind should be how much is 5% since you would pretty much be shopping in the Ferrari showroom at that point.

No. The little smiley face icons that can be made with colons, brackets and the like. Its a combination of the words emote + icon.

About the only emoticon we're missing is a facepalm. I've seen plenty of situations where it would be beneficial.

Wikipedia points out that the word is a portmantaeu of the words "emotion" and "icon". Both Dictionary.com and Wiktionary claim it can include icons as well as text which would feel accurate to the name and the definition of an "icon". Merriam-Webster and Oxford do agree with you though.

The definition of an "icon", for those too lazy to search, according to Google, is a symbol or graphic representation on a screen of a program, option, or window, especially one of several for selection.

This thread has become so derailed... :p

    Someone likes...using ellipses.

Have to say...I've never seen an ellipsis...following a comma (in the OP). Impressive.

As I understand it the emojis actually have there own underlying character codes these days. Which makes them different from a string of character codes forming the emoticons.

Of course pretty much everyone uses them interchangeably, which means it's valid.

    We are? I hadn't realised. ;P

"OMG UNITY IS CHANGING TO SUBSCRIPTION NOW I HATE YOU ALL" threads are pretty boring anyway.

Back on topic, see the superiority of emoticons? I can wink and poke my tongue out at the same time. We don't have an emoji for that anywhere.

even raise eyebrow, wink and stick tongue out.
I find it disturbing when on accident typing in something and when clicking post button the computer turns my text into a emoji! It's like the computer over-ruled me!

I've tried to type code on Facebook occasionally. My mobile phone also occasionally does it in some apps. And I think my blog did it once.

My regular IDE is Visual Studio. Which is fine.

And Obergruppenfuhrer John Smith would be the hero perhaps Mr Trade Minister will be player 2? he would have powers where he could teleport ROFL

I wonder why Hitler made John such a high position though? considering he was a US Army Colonel?

I honestly was surprised at how clean Germany and the Greater American Reich actually was as opposed to the Japanese controlled territories. Another surprise was Hitler for once actually wasn't the ultimate bad guy heck the only reason they didn't go to war with Japan was because Hitler apparently liked the Japanese.

    Bloody brilliant show.

Those aren't ellipses, though, just three periods in a row. This is an even sadder state of affairs…the spacing is all wrong. :( :( An ellipsis is a character…just type alt : (on Mac anyway), so not only is it actually correct but you save a keystroke!

…Yeah, I'm gonna have to lock this soon. ;)

Hmm lock soon? ok let me get this thread back on track.

You know what was the most epic scene in Man in the High Castle season 2? when the Japanese general said "It is clear by now the world that the Nazi dream off is a world without us, a world where we are something foreign like the Jews and the Slavs the Gypsies. The war machine of the Nazi Reich is poised to strike us, None of the men in this room will probably live to see sunrise but our grand children will. And we must never forget that the Empire is IMMORTAL!! then he SHOUTED

    "Tennōheika" Banzai!

OMFG I lost it at that point, that is the war cry for the Japanese suicidal attack. That was war between the Empire of Japan and Nazi Germany. In many ways I am disappointed it didn't play out but I guess thats how the story goes and Amazon is following the original book of the Man in the High Castle.

Its actually intentional - it's a 120 fps gif that hits one frame with an image of what you can't unsee. :D
Will be changing it soon to a hillbilly looking icon guy, though I'll probably still leave in the subliminal frame for ya'll!
