Howdy folks. I'm relatively new to Unity and just registered a forum account. I have a few basic questions on creating character models.

To create a model I know that it must be created in a modeling program (I have 3ds Max) and rigged, but do I create the animations for walking/attacking/jumping/etc in 3ds Max or do I create the animations in Unity?

    Thanks for any help.

Haha wow that's funny, I hope you were sarcastic lol.

Well, the best bet I can think of is go to Google and Youtube and type in exactly what I say.
Just change out "NameOfModelingProgram" with the one you use (Blender, 3d max, Maya, etc)

    say stuff like -

    "NameOfModelingProgram Low Poly Character Tutorial"
    "NameOfModelingProgram Character Tutorial"
    "NameOfModelingProgram Tutorials"
usually doing so, you're bound to find exactly what you are looking for!

    Hope that helps buddy.

Animations are made in your modelling program but Unity got a traditional animation playback system and Mecanim. I'd recommend that you read up on them both a bit :)
