I think Valve is going to make their API compatible with Oculus, since it's an industry standard and there are lots of stuff for Oculus already. Makes sense from a business perspective too, they can put in bullet points that it runs any app Oculus does.

Maybe your right. SteamVR was really a surprise through. I was pretty confident to see an Oculus release this end of the year and was about to get one at the end of the year but now with this new player. It got some nice competition i guess. I think the one with the most support and specs will be the winner in the end. Some poeple might dislike the Oculus but it still was the first to come and the first to be supported. What your thoughts guys ?

Are you aware that there's a Virtual Reality forum here on the Unity forums? I think that's probably the best place to discuss these kinds of things. Regarding Oculus: As SteamVR goes much farther regarding recognizing where the player currently is with Lighthouse, I doubt that they could put themselves below the Oculus API. I truly hope that Unity VR will properly cover SteamVR because at the moment it looks like the much more interesting and broader platform for VR. Oculus is just a special case IMHO, and currently, it much more limited. However, I do believe that you can access Oculus through SteamVR (and that makes a lot of sense given it's a more limited special case).
