SteamVR asset not in scene but triggering SteamVR to launch anyway

    Hello,

    I downloaded the SteamVR asset from the Unity store, imported it into my assets folder, but have not yet drug it into the game or scene at all, yet, when I hit the preview 'PLAY' button, Steam on my computer launches SteamVR.

    What is triggering items in my asset folder I do not want to use yet? Assets like scripts I thought had to be dragged into a scene to be accessed.

    Once you import the SteamVR plugin it installs some default settings, one of which is enabling VR. So, when you hit play it is trying to initialize your VR device.
