Hey everyone, I'm the founder of Starfall Studios, a startup indie developer working on our first game, Sneaky Ninja. It can best be described as the lovechild between Mario and Mark of the Ninja, featuring the tactical stealth gameplay of Mark of the Ninja mixed with the light-hearted platforming and acrobatic stunts of Mario.

The game went live on Steam Greenlight today and was met with a positive response so far, check it out and let me know what you think! Constructive criticism is more than welcome, we're always looking for ways to improve the game. Here's the Greenlight link, or if you prefer, the same trailer on Youtube below. If you like what you see, make sure to give it a vote!

Wow looks great. Must have been hard to code, the fighting/hiding/ai features are great.

Thanks! :) It has taken a while to get it to this point, but there's still plenty of work left to do with those. I have big plans for the AI!

I like it. It's seems to have depth without being being bloody.

I certainly will, you guys haven't heard the last of me! ;)

Thanks! That was something that was important to me since Mario is a big inspiration: keeping a lighthearted tone, which means keeping the violence in check. I'd love if a kid could have fun with this like I did with Mario growing up.

Sneaky Ninja is now 33% to the top 100 on Greenlight! Not bad for a couple of days (I think). Thanks to anyone who voted!

First thought when I saw the screenshots : hmm. not too bad but looks a bit like a cheap flash game.
After watching the youtube video : it actually looks pretty fun when it is in motion.

The only thing, I think the attack would look better if it was a forward/downward style dash attack instead of the current rotating character

We're now 50% of the way to the top 100 on Greenlight! Thanks to anyone who's voted, every bit helps!

Thank you! I've seen that comment a few times, that the trailer changed people's minds, so I've whipped up a few animated GIFs to replace the screenshots to give people a better taste of the gameplay.

I'm not sure what you mean, are you talking about the sword attack which is also in the first GIF of the thread?

yes, the one where he throw a rock then hide in the bush.
I think if the character's attack was more similar to the rock being thrown, like a forward dash with the sword going horizontal, that would make it looks a bit better.
Though it might just be a personal preference.

Hm, that could be an alternate attack -- use it while dashing to do a stabbing motion instead of a swing. Thanks for the idea :)

Most of the rotation in that part is because the player just did a double jump, which is a spinning animation, right before swinging, just so you know.
