    QUALITY ASSURANCE LEAD

    Los Angeles, California, United States - Remote

    We're an LA headquartered, remote-working entertainment technology company and creator of Stageverse. A mobile-first, virtual venue platform for XR experiences in the metaverse, at the intersection of live entertainment, gaming, and retail.

    Stageverse allows millions of people to meet up as avatars in persistent, shared, 3D spaces from major brands, teams, and artists, to socialize, shop, play, and attend exclusive immersive events.

    WE’RE SEEKING
    We’re looking for a QA Lead to work on our core product to help shape the future of what we build. The ideal candidate will have a background in a technical field, will have strong Test Engineering or QA experience. You are methodical, a self-starter, and passionate about quality which is key to the growth and success of a product.

    This position is remote, however, ideal candidates will be based in the US west coast or are comfortable working primarily within US west coast hours (Pacific Time).

    Qualified applications may be asked to complete a skills test including coding as part of the interview processes.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Work on building a Quality driven engineering culture that helps ship products rapidly and with good confidence

    • Drive the quality for a product/feature, assess risks to and ensure shipping features with a high quality bar

    • Plan, develop, and execute test strategy across product and platforms

    • Lead Quality assurance efforts that aligns with product objectives and develop scalable solutions

    • Help tackle cross-platform engineering challenges and contribute creative ideas to the improve quality

    • Implement and evolve QA processes to get effective test signal and scale testing efforts

    • Analyze and troubleshoot reported defects and internal issues

    • Work with product owners and developers to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming features/releases

    • Define Quality Metrics and implement measurements to determine test effectiveness, testing efficiency, and measure the overall quality of the Product

    • Partner with engineering and infrastructure team to leverage automation for scalable solutions to prevent regressions and ensure reliability of product

    • Build and lead a quality assurance team as both a people manager and a tactical driver of success, with the ability to contribute to day-to-day efforts as needed

    • Assist in onboarding and training of new team members

    • Implement defect reporting formats and tracking systems (Jira)

    • Use bug tracking software to record bugs and specific test results

    • Assist in triaging bugs from the database

    • Verify fixes are implemented correctly throughout the product cycle in both consumer and development environment

    • Lead third-party certification and ratings authority submission efforts
    REQUIREMENTS
    • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience

    • 3+ years in QA on cross platform digital game products

    • 2+ years directly managing QA teams

    • Experience building and leading a QA team

    • Mastery of all facets of software testing, including defect prevention strategies, test automation, use of outsourcing and QA engineering

    • Technical Background - not just a person leader; able to contribute to day-to-day testing/engineering efforts

    • Experience working with and testing for multiple platforms (Desktop, Mobile, VR Headsets)

    • Experience working in a LiveOps environment

    • A deep understanding of defect reporting, version control, and configuration management best practices, along with different testing phase best practices and objectives (functional, system integration, UAT, performance)

    • General experience with automation best practices and development tools; Unit and Integration testing of APIs

    • Solid understanding of testing APIs at both a client/sdk level and how they interact with backend services

    • Hands-on experience with test planning, test designing and execution, performance and stress testing, implementing and maintaining quality test automation of both client and server systems

    • Communication, analytical and problem-solving experience

    • Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools & automation frameworks

    • Ability to excel in a startup environment – strong initiative and ability to work independently

    • Ability to work remotely with strong communication skills (written and verbal)
    BONUS POINTS
    • Experience in managing black box and white box testing

    • Experience working with Unity Engine is preferred but not required

    • Shows creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and effectiveness

    • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization
