    DEVOPS ENGINEER

    We're an LA headquartered, remote-working entertainment technology company and creator of Stageverse. A mobile-first, virtual venue platform for XR experiences in the metaverse, at the intersection of live entertainment, gaming, and retail.


    Stageverse allows millions of people to meet up as avatars in persistent, shared, 3D spaces from major brands, teams, and artists, to socialize, shop, play, and attend exclusive immersive events.

    WE’RE SEEKING
    An experienced and pro-active DevOps Engineer that will focus on creating, improving, and maintaining our cloud-based platforms and services that enable our development team to iteratively deliver critical features and functionality. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the design and delivery of service infrastructure, investigating operational issues and supporting our development team. As the first member in the DevOps team, you will work closely with all stakeholders across the business and help shape the platform, infrastructure and processes.

    This position is remote, however, ideal candidates will be based in the US west coast or are comfortable working primarily within US west coast hours (Pacific Time).

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Operating a high traffic, scalable infrastructure with no downtime through robust infrastructure and architectural design.

    • Designing and implementing DRS and Business continuity plans

    • Capacity planning to ensure we can support a rapidly growing user base

    • Create infrastructure to support AWS-based Cloud services

    • Work with the development team to help engineer scalable, reliable, and resilient online services

    • Leverage emerging cloud technologies to provide self-service workflows that enable development team to build, test, release, scale and support our app

    • Manage release branches as well as maintain the build process to support continuous integration

    • Investigate, debug and drive improvements to engineering/build automation process

    • Support and improve efficiency and effectiveness of tools (CI/CD, automated testing, automation and release)

    • Manage all infrastructure and configuration as well as ensuring systems & services are leveraging best practices & standards

    • Mentor development team on DevOps best practices

    • Collaborate with remote team members to build and maintain positive, productive team relationships

    • Responding to alerts/alarms requiring immediate attention to ensure service availability/uptime.

    • Assisting with general IT issues and operational matters.
    REQUIREMENTS
    • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience

    • 5+ years of DevOps experience building and maintaining infrastructure, supporting production workloads, code deployment pipelines and configuration management

    • Commercial experience operating high traffic 24x7 online services

    • Proven experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure

    • Specific experience with AWS Code Pipeline, Code Build, Code Deploy, API Gateway, Cloudwatch, S3, Cloudfront highly regarded

    • Experience deploying and managing infrastructure with the AWS stack

    • Demonstrable scripting experience with a variety of scripting languages for automating tasks, generating reports, and creating tools (e.g. Python, Bash, Shell)

    • Experience with DevOps technologies such as Jenkins, Maven, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift highly regarded

    • Experience with configuration management using Ansible, Chef and/or Puppet

    • Ability to excel in a startup environment – strong initiative and ability to work independently

    • Ability to work remotely with strong communication skills (written and verbal)
    BONUS POINTS
    • Familiarity with metrics and logging tools (eg. New Relic, Kibana (ELK stack), SumoLogic, Grafana)

    • Experience with SQL server (Administrative tasks) - SQL querying a bonus

    • Experience with configuring Redis, Memcached, Dynamo DB

    • General Dotnet core experience (Configuration and setup)

    • Experience with load/capacity testing and planning
