Squash and Stretch Animation. Unity 2018/2019

    Hi All

    I'll be doing some practical work on this but thought I'd ask around before accidentally reinventing the wheel.

    I'm looking at squash and stretch rigs. The simplest way of doing this in a 3D authoring tool is to scale the bones. Heres a video from autodesk.



    Ideally it would be a straight export with the above setup but most posts about the subject I've dug up are now quite dated and the accepted method seems to be creating a scaling rig with dummy objects between each bone in the hierarchy.

    Given that these posts are little old I was wondering if anyone knows of a solution to creating squash and stretch rigs for Unity in 2018/2019? Or is it still the same kind of process?
