Sprites are being added behind the background

    I'm following this tutorial ...
    ... I'm at the part where he's telling me to add a plank underneath the ball.

    Well, I drag and drop the plank underneath the ball, and ... it doesn't show up.

    On a hunch, I temporarily removed the sky background. Lo and behold, the plank was there, behind the sky background.

    How do I get it into the foreground?
