I have been going through the Junior Programmer portion of the Unity Learn platform for a couple of weeks now and ran into an issue while working on Lab 3 where my Player sphere falls through my plane. Both have Colliders and Rigidbodies set up, so I'm not certain why this is happening. Screenshots attached.

Upon start the sphere falls through the plane without collision. Adding a mesh collider to the sphere does cause it to interact with the plan, but I don't think that should be necessary when a sphere collider is already present.

The PlayerController script has been include in case it is relevant.

Any help will be very appreciated! Thanks!

Uncheck the trigger box on the sphere collider.

That worked! I wish I understood why! Thanks for the help and would really appreciate if you could give me a brief explanation too.

You use triggers to detect something entering the volume of the collider. The collider no longer collides when the trigger flag is set (if it was still a collider then the triggering object could not enter).
