Speed Tree Light Cookie support

Hi - I need some potential shader help. I recently purchased this cloud shadow shader - and it looks REALLY great. Except that it doesn't seem to play well with any tree shaders. It essentially turns them off. The creator of the asset said it could be because they don't have light cookies in the shader. I only partially understand what this means.
