Spectrum Data FFT

I know this isn't really meant for this forum but it's pretty close.

I can't find much documentation on the GetSpectrumData method - documentation seems to be lacking for most of the audio based stuff.
Anyway, I was wondering what the range of values are, that are returned when running the GetSpectrumData method. So I'm putting the data straight into an array for use on a small-scale FFT analyser. So does the GetSpectrumData method return values for each individual frequency or does it return the values for certain bands of frequencies (ie. 400-410hz).
If that makes any sense.
