    Hi guys!
Just thought I could post a model I`ve been working on lately. As I`m trying to learn programming in Unity, I wanted to have a player to play around with, so I came up with the space d00d. He`s heavily inspired by Little Big Planet and was a joy to make. Hopefully he`ll be my companion when I dive into the art of programming I also made him to test out the Character Animation Toolkit plugin for 3ds max.

I don`t think I will change how he looks now, but I hope to get some constructive feedback from you guys!

    Hope you like:

Nicely done, but perhaps you mean to spell the character's name "spaceDUDE"?

Hehe.. thanks for the feedback man! He is a spaced00d indeed, so that was on purpose :)

Looking forward to animating him and throwing him into unity now!

I`ll keep this thread updated with a webplayer soon.

    Thanks again!

I like it, looks cool with the oversized jack in the box like head. :)

One niggle: I'm not sure I like the head floating above the body so much, did you think about and/or experiment with a neck of any sort? If so what did you think of that?

Keep it up and def. post a web player demo when you can!

Nice! I say make the floating head part of the gameplay. Something like our poor guy had a deep space mining accident that simultaniously severed his head, cautorised (spelling? Typing on iPhone here) the cut and freakishly caused a temporal gravity well to form in the gap.

Gameplay wise the head could be controlled seperatly to the body for a bit of stealth style gameplay (look ahead and things like that) and you could also decapitate your victims and steal their head temporarily as a disguise.

Hope that made some sense. Typing semi blind here :)

Good idea! He should also be able to put his body inside his head to enter "roll mode." :D

Hi guys thanks a lot for the nice feedback!
Concerning the "disconnected" head, that was made on purpose. I was thinking of using it as a gameplay element, maybe so he can use it as some kind of weapon or drone. Maybe it even can be bounced upwards using the space key or something. It can also be used as a health indicator, being more "loose" when he has low health.

Oh well.. I won`t be able to program anything like that very soon anyways. Focus now will be to get him animated and inside Unity. I think I will add an antenna to his helmet too maybe put some orange tint in that helmet-glass.

    Will keep you updated :)

    Thanks again!

Maybe it's Rayman in that space suit.

I'm a huge Rayman fan and so in response I'd have to ask: then why the arms and legs?! :D :p
