South Park: The Divide (A fan-made game)

Before you say anything please read. This is a fan-made game I will release only on my website- and earn 0 profit from it. I was considering not releasing it, but I decided that if I do it will be on my webpage. I got the idea from playing South Park: The Stick of Truth and though, "I wonder how hard it would be to make this on Unity" and so the game was made. The gameplay you are about to see is what I have made in 48 hours using Unity2D.

Story:
After winning a school-wide spelling bee, Eric Cartman is given the grand prize of Mayor of South Park for a day. Seeing this as his ticket to power, Cartman persuades many members of the South Park community to overthrow Mayor McDaniels and place himself in office for ever. Three days after he is elected the new mayor, Cartman enforces- the B.R. Act after watching Battle Royale in theaters. Now you must play as Kyle, Stan, and Butters and help bring Mayor McDaniels back and put South Park back to its original state.

Like I said I made this in just 48 hours, I'm fifteen years old and I hope that I can continue making games- but of course not fan-made games (this is just me seeing how far I can go in Unity2D).

 

Its hard to assess the game from just a few screenshots but I would say good on ya for finishing a project. Because as we all know, Finishing is half the battle (G.I Joe??)

 

So, after reading your disclaimer and not saying anything....I will go ahead and say something.
It's a gamble going what you are doing. Yes you are not making any profit, but you could potentially damage the value of their brand, which could be big trouble for you. Will they ever find out, or even see it to begin with...who knows. But you should NEVER NEVER NEVER use someone else's IP without permission.

That being said...looks awesome!

 

Thanks! To be honest there are a couple of fan made south park games on the internet.

 

I know, I have made fan based games too, but I have also see first hand what happens when the IP owners find out.

Oh yes of course. I love South Park, and if the owners request that I take the game down then I most certainly will.

 

This is very impressive, congrats! Is this your first unity project? Did you come up with that story idea?

I like your attitude, you seem to be more focused on just learning about the process of making games. Just keep doing what you're doing.

 

Yes the story is something I made up. when making the game plot I wondered what would happen if Cartman became mayor. And so I began some ideas, then I went on Netflix to take a small break and Battle Royale & the Hunger Games were on my "Because you watched Kill Bill" list. Then I thought what if Cartman makes the BR act and sends his class in there and Stan and Wendy show their relationship on screen like the Hunger Games- igniting a South Park rebellion between the liberals with Cartman and the Conservatives with Mayor Mcdaniels- who is the President Coin of the game.

 

I really wish I knew where to get this game.
