I'm trying to make a simple VR locomotion system using the thumbstick. My current hierarchy is: Player > OVRCameraRig > TrackingSpace. On the scene root I also placed CustomHandRight and CustomHandLeft prefabs, both with Parent Transform set to TrackingSpace.

I'm moving Player on Update (or LateUpdate, tried that too) with a very basic script, but while I move, hands jitter around like they are always one frame behind. I also tried to apply the same movement delta to the hands; in that case the jitter is gone but while moving they are no longer tracked and stay still in front of the camera, and are tracked again as soon as I stop moving with the thumbstick. Another attempt was to place the hands inside either OVRCameraRig or TrackingSpace, but the result was the same as the previous attempt.

I'm pretty sure there is a right setup that works here but apparently I can't find any explicit tutorial on how to do this, plus the Oculus Integration samples are much more complex and bloated than I need. Thanks for whose who can help.

Well, it looks like the problem is all inside the CustomHand prefab from the official Oculus Integration plugin.

I created a simple cube and within the OnBeforeRenderCallback event I assigned to it position and rotation, reading those from OVRCameraRig.leftHandAnchor or .rightHandAnchor. It works perfectly now. Case closed I guess.

For anyone who might find a youtube video on this useful...

I've also detailed a step-by-step method and script, which worked for me, at getting rid of the jittering/stuttering hands issue.
