(SOLVED) Inverted Normals on Character Mesh

    Hi guys! I'm trying to export a character using 3DS Max 9, .fbx format; exporter v. 2006.08; default settings, and it gives me this error:
    and when i import him into unity his normals are flipped, any ideas? I've exported another character just fine...Any help would be much appreciated!

    EDIT: I solved the problem by collapsing him down to an editable mesh instead of editable poly, and reskinning and re-exporting, worked just fine...
