Correct me if I am wrong but in Unity 4 you could add a Collider to an Empty GameObject. It appears you can no longer do this in Unity 5?

I simply wanted to make an empty game object have a Collider that I would use for Triggering stuff. If I can't do this with an empty game object I suppose I could just use a cube... If I do it with a cube would the best thing to do is turn of the Mesh Renderer in the Inspector? If that is turned off do I need to bother turning off the Mesh Filter?

Omg.....dude this whole time all I had available to add to it was the different canvas things.....turns out I didn't realize I had the words "can" typed in the search component......I remember typing that last week when working on something else. I guess it saved the words in the search bar all this time haha
