Does one need Teams Advanced to use Collaborate with a Teams Advanced project owner? For instance if someone owns a project over 1gb, can they assign a seat to someone who is not subscribed to Teams Advanced? I'm quite confused by all this. Additionally, can one get Teams Advanced without having Unity Plus? Thanks in advance.

    Hi @djweinbaum ---

Hopefully I can clear up some of the confusion. Both storage and seats are tracked at the organization level. The organization is the entity that can purchase the different subscriptions that Unity offers (i.e. Unity Pro or Unity Plus or Unity Teams Advanced). You can view your organization(s) by going to https://id.unity.com. Additionally, this is where seat management is performed.

Anyone with Unity Teams Advanced can assign their available seats to anyone with a Unity ID. The person getting the seat does not need to be a Unity Teams Advanced subscriber. Additionally, you can change these assignments at any time.

If you have Unity Teams Advanced and want to assign a seat to someone, you can do that at https://id.unity.com. First, you must make that person a part of your organization (either as an Owner, Manager, User or Guest). Then, you can assign a seat to them.

Organizations can have multiple projects. The storage limits for Basic (1GB) and Advanced (25GB) are for all of the projects within an organization. The size of all of the projects within an organization must be under the limit for that organization. It does not matter who the owner of the project is.

Finally, yes, you can subscribe to Unity Teams Advanced without Plus. You can do that by going here: https://unity3d.com/teams.

Let us know if you have additional questions.

Thanks very much for the information! My final question is: Does a contractor need the same version of Unity as you? For example, if I am a company that needs Unity plus and Teams Advanced, can I assign a teams seat to a contractor who has neither? Or aught they buy their own plus license? They are not an employee, and not part of my company, but need access to the build.

    Hi @djweinbaum ---

Independently from Unity Collaborate, Unity's Terms of Service state "You may not combine or integrate Your Project Content developed with one tier of Unity Software (e.g., Unity Personal) simultaneously with any of Your Project Content that you develop with another tier (e.g., Unity Plus or Unity Pro)."

Unity's Terms of Service are here: https://unity3d.com/legal/terms-of-service

So, in the example you provided, you would probably make the contractor a "Guest" in your organization and assign them a seat. But if you have Unity Plus with Unity Teams Advanced, then the contractor you are collaborating with should also be using Unity Plus.

    Hope that clarifies.
