Solution for testing game performances on very low-end chipsets?

    Testing performance in the editor != performance in a build.

    Indeed, but it sure says a lot. If a shader in the editor makes the framerate jump from 60 to 20 fps, there is definitly something to investigate there.

    This is not a good workflow. You find a target budget than you optimize and then verify.

    Sounds great in theory but on a low-end device it's very likely the editor that is the culprit since the system won't have the resources to go around that it would on a high-end device, and even on a very high-end device I've had instances where the editor was the culprit in a performance problem.
