It's wonderful, congrats. Any chances on getting any variations for iOS?

How many draw calls does your product use.

Its actually pretty inexpensive in terms of draw calls. In the demo scene the draw calls are about 40, but that's because I have a number of meshes in the scene. The footprint script makes one draw call per footprint, and that can get ugly if they aren't set to disappear. I don't know alot about batching so I'm not sure if that can be optimized.
There are 2 shaders included in the package, an SM2.0 and SM3.0 shader. The SM2.0 shader requires you to duplicate and elevate the meshes of what ever surfaces you want snow on, which will double a scene's draw calls if every surface is receiving snow. The SM3.0 shader works with one mesh, and doesn't double draw calls, but its far less versatile. The accumulation/evaporation effect is very simple... its an alpha channel controlled texturemap based on a mask texture and a normal.

I have no immediate plans to port this to iOS, partly because every system besides the accumulation shaders would need to be done entirely differently, but mostly because I don't have an iOS nor Android license yet.

Has this been updated with newer components? Like Shrukin particles? Or is development done with this?

ooof... A heafty job digging all that dirt and resurrecting a thread. Yikes.

It would be nice if the author made any progress on it, like supporting terrains.

Terrain support is not likely. The animated shaders needed aren't compatible with terrains.
I am working on updating the particles to Shuriken for both Snowscape and Rainscape and I'm just about done.
I'm also programming two iphone games for clients, as well as Weatherscapes and Delta Velocity. Expect to see some cool things soon.

    Hi ScienceFiction ,
I buyed your asset and i think is great, but i'm encountering a problem when i enable the DX11 setting.
Do you plan to update the asset for support of DX11?
    Thanks

marcaurelio and landon, working on updating both Snowscape and Rainscape to use Unity 4 components, please expect the update by June, at the very latest.

Do you just release your packages and abandon them?

There is nothing abandoned in my packages. I have promised to add additional features to enhance them, but I am actually very busy programming other projects as well, so those additional features have been postponed because they are not small tasks, but rest assured I have been working on them... You can ask anyone who has contacted me directly for support, I am more than supportive. Perhaps I can help you?

Hey there, sorry, just wanted to know how the update was going? I was really interested in this asset but I'm curious about the content of the immanent release? Don't really want to get ahead of myself in modification and customisation when you're working on something in the background.

Snowscape updated to 1.1 for compatibility, resolution and realism (in scale and transition).
    New Features:
    -Updated to Unity 4.3
-Added Aurora Borealis, vertex shader effect.
-improved accumulation equations (accumulation rate normalized and unified across all surfaces).
-improved mesh deformation (plowing flattens ground instead of making holes in it).
-improved plowing effects, added vertex shader particles.
-improved snow textures, redesigned from HD photographs.

It would be really nice if you could develop a little more the Footprint system and actually made it an Asset Store script compatible with Mecanim Humanoid Avatars...
Anyway, Snowscape looks really cool but unfortunattely i'm developing a tropical landscape based game... Need to implement a Footprint system with low drawcalls for sand, mud and grass...

    Best...

Does it work with the new Unity (5.1.1)?

Is this asset still supported? The dev's website has been reclaimed by the host. Has anyone tried it in 5 or 5.1? What kind of documentation comes with it?
