Snap to vertex not working on skinned mesh

    Hello,
    i have a simple door with two bones, one controls the door panel and the second controls the handle.
    When i try to allign the door to a specific vertex in my level by pressing w (active transform tool) and holding V (vertex snap), the translation gizmo position itself on the bones of my model, rather than on the desired vertex.

    I also noticed the Skinned Mesh Renderer is not properly alligned with my mesh.

    Not sure what is wrong, here is the hierarchy view for this model:

    I am on Unity 2018.1.0f2

    Any help would be appreciated!
