Hey guys, this is the first time I've posted here so I'm sorry if this isn't the right place. I'm trying to figure out a way to reproduce the same animation but with slightly different details. For example, adding injuries to the character's idle and attack animations when he has low health, without the need to redraw every single frame of the entire animation. I figured the best way to do this would be to draw the bruises on a separate spritesheet and apply them at a specific time, or replace some part of the body with the injured version. But I have no idea how to do this, much less what this technique is called. So if anyone could point me to the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
