Sluggish plane tracking

    We're doing some work with ARKit, but are struggling to get it to reliably track planar surfaces with relatively few feature points. While it happily picks up my desk as long as it is littered with items, it really struggles to pick it up when it has clear space (which I would be much likely to want to use as a base for my AR apps than my laptop keyboard).

    I know a bit about feature extraction / triangulation etc, and am aware that some features are required, but it struggles even with our fine-checkered-pattern carpet unless I'm *very* close up.

    Is there a way to "encourage" it to pick these up quicker through settings? I'm comparing to the same application with ARCore which picks up nearly instantly, and retains stability of the tracking, even when surfaces are mostly clear.
