The Story:
You heard that the legendary "Slender Man" was sighted in the Palm Resort! Now you are going to collect all the Pages to show the World that Slenderman exists!

This is the Final Beta! It only contains 15 Pages (later will be 20), and a bugged Slender. But it works!

Sadly, THIS is what everyone says when they developing a Slender game..

 

Why does everyone have to be unpleasant, People can develop whatever they want, it's not like there are any strict guidelines on what game to develop. In short, If you don't like it don't post on it.

Anyway @OP: Looks very basic right now, you should try and work on the art assets although try to ignore what every will inevitably post about this being a slender game. Stay true to what you want to make and don't change it unless you really want to.

 

If all you do is collect pages, the game will be VERY boring considering it takes HOURS to complete

 

looks like slenderman is set to be the most cloned game in history, which is surprising since slenderman only gives the player about 10 mins of interest before they realise its the same tat all the way through and frankly boring.

It really is better to be told that making a slenderman clone should only serve as a learning exercise to code.

Well, because it makes the author of the slenderman clone look like an idiot with no imagination. Perhaps people are concerned that this person on the internet is wasting skill which can be better put to use. If you are making a slenderman clone as well, then you're wasting your skill. But like you say, why should we care? I for one don't care so I'd better not post on slenderman clones in future, lest bile and loathing spill forth using the medium of text.

I have to say I had high hopes - the reason I visited this thread is I thought someone made a sunny or holiday resort clone of slenderman with large straw hat serving drinks or something amusing with creativity. It almost happened but it didn't.

I'm joining the crowd. I'm now going to develop my own slender game!

Anyone that wishes to flame me or have a go at me for it must realize one thing; save it, coz all the insults, flaming and anti-slender polava will bounce off my ego like bullets off Superman!

 

Slenderman can't go on vacations. Because everywhere he goes, he manages to kill people.

 

If I had the power, I'd make it a criminal offense to create these abominations, punishable by 30 years hard time in with general population.

 

You misunderstood my posting, could this be?
I never said that I don't like his game nor I am against it. I just said that every slenderbased game creator says mostly something like "But THIS Slender is special!". Nothing more

There could be a whole series of slender games, somewhat like the next harry potter book, or like childrens books.... slender goes to the toilet, slender in hawaii, slender in space, slender scoops dirt, slender builds a house, slender vs slender, slender and the big hole, slender vs aliens, slender dash, slender's tiki diner, ... so much potential. How about a slender tower defense game? .... mm.... or a slender shootemup?

 

Slenderman and palm beach resorts, I haven't seen that anywhere before. What if instead of pages you need to gather something else. In every slender game its always pages. How will that help you against him ?

Maybe gather pieces of a weapon and then use the weapon to destroy slenderman. The ending could be that you see a cutscene where he comes back to life so in truth no one can stop the slenderman, just like no one can stop all the slenderclones on this forum.

EDIT: How about slendwoman ? That has never been done before ! Why is it always a man ?

 

I like the idea of building a weapon, would be more unique

There should be a slender simulator, the point of the game is not to find, but to watch, watch game dev forums, steam, and indie db get flooded with slender clones, The objective? Find the arrival of a unique game no one has seen before, impossible? I say possible, bask in glory of baskets filled with content so original you might just have to not play it
