What Is Skin Inspector?

Skin Inspector is a lightweight Editor Utility that leverages a custom inspector to create a whole new interface for editing GUI Skins. Thew new UI is designed to make the process of creating, editing, and managing GUISkins much easier, if not enjoyable.

In addition to the streamlined interface Skin Inspector brings some much needed functionality to the table when it comes to editing and managing your GUISkins and their styles.

Skin Inspector Features

Customize-able Color Scheme
The entire color scheme of the UI is customize-able since it is built using a custom GUISkin. To alter it simply click on the SkinInspector.guiskin in the project view and editor the appropriate styles in the custom styles.

Export GUISkins

Ever make a GUISkin and want to copy it to a new project, but the images for the styles are all over the place? Total pain to find them, move them all to one place and update the styles right?

No more! No you can export your GUISkin and Skin Inspector will make a copy of the GUISkin in the destination folder of your choice, as well as make a UIImages sub folder. Then Skin Inspector inspects the GUISkin's custom styes and make copies of all the textures used in the custom styles and moves them to the UIImages folder. Finally Skin Inspector edits the new GUISkin and updates all the image references to the new images in the UIImages folder. There we go your GUISkin is ready to be packaged up.

Delete Custom Styles
Easily delete any GUIStyle from anywhere in the Custom Styles list just by right clicking on it and selecting delete.

Import styles from EdiotrStyles
Import Styles from 'EditorStyles' into the current GUISkin. Your styles now have access to styles like toolbar, and helpBox.

Import Styles from other GUISkins
Easily Import Styles from other GUISkins. That's right I said import styles from other skins! Easily! Right click in the Custom Styles panel, goto the import menu, and you can see a list of all other GUISkins in the project, go to the GUISkin you want and the menu breaks out allowing you to import any of the GUISkins custom styles.

Reorder Custom Styles
Reorder the CustomStyles alphabetically by name, making it easier to find styles and keep similar styles grouped up.

Hey Everyone,

Skin Inspector has finally been reviewed and approved to the asset store.

I will be pushing an update later tonight with a few small improvements, as well as a couple minor feature upgrades such as the ability to clear all of the custom styles in a skin. I will also be uploading a small video showing off Skin Inspector and how to use it either later tonight or tomorrow.

As a bonus to the first two people who read this below are two keys for Skin Inspector, All i ask in return is some feedback from whoever uses the keys.
