Question Single pass instanced SteamVR performance with OpenXR

    Hey!

    We just moved our game from SteamVR to OpenXR, updated engine to 2021 LTS and changed rendering from single pass to single pass instanced. Performance increased with Oculus headsets as expected but SteamVR headsets performance, especially GPU, tanked quite heavily. Has anyone else experienced similar results? Also SteamVR settings aren't working at runtime anymore and you need to restart the game for them to take effect now. Possibly SteamVR problem with OpenXR or something else going on here that I might have missed?

    Maybe SteamVR has some performance optimizations built in which OXR doesnt use (yet).
    For performance issues, I suggest making a bug report so unity might be able to fix it in the future!
    Same for the reload issue

    I'll definitely need to make a bug report. I haven't seen other people with similar issue but SteamVR settings not applying with OpenXR does happen with other OpenXR games so it can be from either Unity or SteamVR.
