I'm investigating real-time music composition-instruments in virtual spaces. Here's my first little project: Recourse. I have hit a wall though when it comes to live performance and live interaction. The subject controlling the Wanderer (the little animated man) isn't really interacting with the objects that much. He is only influencing the physics of objects that make musical collisions. I want to query the community for any thoughts on how to elevate the interactivity (as well as the musicality) of a virtual environment like this. I should say, that the virtual space should not feel like a "music game" akin to Guitar Hero. Instead, I would like to make a world of musical attributes that are enhanced/revealed by a performer. Does anyone know of any examples of this? Thanks in advance!
